Statement of Faith
WE BELIEVE:
-
The Bible is the
inspired word of God. ( 2 Tim 3:16)
-
The Godhead – Our God
is one, but manifested in three persons, Father, Son, Holy Spirit,
co-equal. (Deut. 6:4)
-
Man – created in the
likeness & image of God, through Adam’s transgression and fall,
sin came into the world. (Rom. 3:10, 3:23)
-
Jesus Christ, the Son
of God manifested to undo the works of the devil, gave His life,
shed His blood to redeem and restore man back to God. (Rom. 5:14,
1John 3:8)
-
Salvation is the gift
of God to man, separate from works and the law; and made operative
by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, producing works acceptable
to God.
-
Eternal life & the New
Birth – First step toward salvation is Godly sorrow that worketh
repentance. (2Cor 7:10, 1John 5:12)
-
Water Baptism – by
immersion, commanded by our Lord is for believers. Identifies us
with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. (Matt.
28:19, Rom. 6:4)
-
Holy Spirit - the
present supernatural ministry of the Holy Spirit, including
indwelling, inner workings and baptism in the believer,
accompanied by the evidence of speaking in other tongues as the
Holy Spirit gives utterance. The Spirit-filled life is a life of
separation from the world and perfecting of holiness in the fear
of God as an expression of Christian faith. We believe in the
multiplicity of spiritual gifts and supernatural signs that follow
those who believe, which include: words of wisdom, words of
knowledge, faith, gifts of healing, working of miracles, prophecy,
discerning of spirits, various kinds of tongues and their
interpretation. (2 Cor. 7:1; Acts 2:1-4, 4:30; Rom.12:1-2; 8:11;
Heb.2:3-4; 1 Cor. 12-14)
-
Sanctification is the
definite progressive work of grace, starting at the time of
regeneration, until the consummation of salvation at Christ’s
return. (Heb 12:14, 1Thes. 5:23)
-
Divine Healing –
Healing is for the physical ills of the body and is wrought by the
power of God through the prayer of faith and by laying on of
hands. (Mark 5:30, 16:18, James 5:14, 15)
